DUBLIN entrepreneur Mikey Maguire has hit the ground running with a double-edged sword, targeting both retail and online markets.
The Artane native opened up his quirky store Wunderboxx just eight weeks ago in George's Arcade.
Wunderboxx sells things you won't find anywhere else in the city, the 30-year-old told the Herald.
"We source the quirkiest things we can from all over the world," he said.
Currently in stock are lazy-reading glasses, allowing the wearer to read in bed without sitting up, and a bubble-wrap tie that will kill boredom in meeting.
"It's the essential corporate gift," he joked.
The new store is the first step in a long process for the determined Dub. He also sells unique T-shirts which he designs himself and they are "walking out the door".
Mikey Maguire's acumen for unusual businesses has been serving him well so far, but without the help of charity organisation Inner City Business getting the business off the ground would have been a struggle.
"ICE have been brilliant really supportive, they have had my back since the start," Mr Maguire said.
