Cocaine user has 'copped on'

A MAN who had a white substance under his nose was stopped and searched by gardai and found with four street deals of cocaine, a court heard.

Graham Kelly (24) was walking down a street in an intoxicated state when Gda Peter Finnan saw he had a white substance under his nose.

The defendant, of Killakee Court, Firhouse, was found to have €280 worth of cocaine at Firhouse Road last May 19 and €50 of cannabis was found in a follow-up search of his home.

Solicitor Kevin Tunney told Tallaght District Court that Kelly has "copped himself on" and is no longer associating with the same peer group.

Judge John Lindsay ordered Kelly to enter into a 12-month probation bond.

AN UNINSURED driver took over at the wheel of his girlfriend's car as she was unable to drive, a court heard.

The defendant, of New-hall Court, Blessington Road, Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to driving without insurance at Kiltalown Lane last April 22.

Solicitor Eddie O'Connor said Winder was driving his girlfriend's car because she was unable to drive.

Teenager made threat to garda

A TEENAGER who was talking in a courtroom threatened to knock a garda to the ground with a punch.

Paul Darcy (18), of St Mary's Halting Site, Finglas, admitted before Tallaght District Court to a breach of the peace.

Sgt Bernard Jones said Darcy and another man were asked to leave Tallaght court last June 30.

The sergeant said Darcy was aggressive to Gda Paul McLoughlin and told him to "f**k off" or he'd put him on his back with a punch.

Judge John Lindsay ordered Darcy to enter into a 12-month probation bond.
