Club reveller abused gardai

AN IT consultant hurled abuse at gardai and accused them of racism when they investigated a disturbance at a Dublin club, a court heard.

Sabastian Balatescu (38) was convicted and fined €300 over the incident in the city centre on New Year's Day.

The accused, of North Circular Road, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and failing to obey garda directions at the Boiler House, Crane Lane, Dublin 2.

Dublin District Court heard when gardai arrived at the scene, the defendant was being abusive and refusing to leave.

Gardai directed him to leave three times and he said: "f*** you, you horrible c***s", then made allegations that they were being "racist towards his culture".

The accused was from Romania and had been living in Ireland for 15 years, his solicitor said.

Kill-accused on ¤130k bail

George Zimmerman was released from a county jail on $150,000 (¤130,800) bail as he awaits his second-degree murder trial for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman (28) shot Martin (17) on February 26 inside the gated community in Florida, where Zimmerman lived, during an altercation. Martin was unarmed and was walking back to the home of his father's fiancee when Zimmerman saw him, called emergency services and began following him. A fight broke out. Zimmerman says Martin, who was visiting from Miami, attacked him.
