Cleaner faces drug charges after swoop

A CLEANER was allegedly caught with party drugs and cannabis in his Dublin home after it was searched by gardai.

Gary McGrath (27) was not at home when detectives raided the house in Ballycullen at 3am.

Michael Hennessy, defending, told a Dublin court he would love to know what necessitated a search at that time in the morning.

McGrath appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with possession of cannabis and benzylpiperazine (BZP), as well as having the drugs for sale or supply.

The alleged incident took place at his home at Wood Dale Oak, Ballycullen, on March 2.

During the course of the garda search, it is alleged that cannabis, worth €540, and BZP tablets, worth €185, were found in his bedroom.

Cash of €940 was also allegedly found hidden in a DVD box in the defendant's room. The judge adjourned the matter to November.
