DUBLIN is now a "normal airport again" after security restrictions have been eased by the European Commission, the Minister for Transport said.
The Commission is satisfied that problems have been resolved after it carried out an audit on the airport's compliance with EU security rules.
Aircraft searches were reintroduced in the aftermath, and passengers transferring to another European airport had to be rescreened when they landed from Dublin.
This caused additional delays for passengers travelling around the EU region. However, this has now been eased.
The Commission inspectors carried out an additional inspection and has now lifted the procedures which it had imposed on Dublin Airport.
Leo Varadkar expressed his appreciation at how the Commission responded so quickly to the rectification .
