Christine house-hunting in US as Frank heads for NY

Christine Bleakley has revealed that she is house-hunting in the Big Apple ahead of her fiancé Frank Lampard's transfer to newly-formed Major League Soccer side New York City FC.

Despite Lampard committing himself to a two-year deal with the club, a spokesperson for TV presenter Christine was quick to dispel rumours that she would be making a permanent move stateside.

"Christine will not be relocating to New York. She will remain based in London and will travel to and from the US for the duration of Frank's time in New York," he said.

Nevertheless, the footballer's decision to follow in the footsteps of David Beckham and Robbie Keane in playing out the remainder of his career in America coincides with the end of Christine's four year 'golden handshake' deal with ITV.

While the 35-year-old still has several projects in the pipeline with the British broadcaster, the end of her €4.8m agreement frees her up to work for other channels - even opening up the possibility of a job on American television.

Speaking about the move the former Dancing on Ice presenter told The New York Post: "I've been to New York before, but you need a feel for the place.

"People are helping but, basically, just Frank and I are looking - ideally we want a view and four bedrooms.

"He has two little girls we want to look out for as they are a priority," she said.

The high-profile pair have been dating for over six years and got engaged back in 2011, saying their wedding day would take place after this year's World Cup.

Lampard (36) signed with New York City after seeing out his contract at Chelsea.

He will join the American side when the season begins in March but will spend the next six months on loan to Manchester City.

The future looks bright for Christine who has a prime-time travel show in the pipeline with ITV due to begin filming in the autumn followed by a stint on This Morning next January.
