PRIMARY school children from all over the capital have put their crayons to good use to contribute doodles to Dublin Fire Brigade's calendar.
Twelve winning pupils were presented with prizes by Lord Mayor Christy Burke and Chief Fire Officer Patrick Fleming and their drawings will feature in the 2015 Dublin Fire Brigade Safety Calendar.
Mr Burke said the initiative is a great way of raising awareness over the extra fire hazards in the Christmas period.
"Getting children thinking about the extra fire hazards associated with the Christmas season and putting those thoughts into pictures encourages them to be aware of the possible dangers ahead," he said.
Meanwhile, members of the Dublin Fire Brigade have also raised more than €5,000 from this year's Movember campaign.
A total of 36 members from stations across the county grew their moustaches to raise money for men's cancer research.
An open day was held in Phibsborough Fire Station on the final day of November to shave off the mobros of the dedicated crew members, with gardai and ambulance service crews also joining in.
In total the Dublin Fire Brigade raised €5,160, with the overall sum raised by the emergency services standing at €22,038.
