Cheryl's new song loses its chart Magic!

Newlywed Cheryl Cole has been knocked off the top of the singles chart by a Canadian reggae fusion band.

Magic! have claimed their first number one with debut single Rude, pushing the X Factor judge's (right) Crazy Stupid Love down to number two.

Rude first entered the chart four weeks ago based solely on audio streams, the Official Charts Company said.

Upon its official release last week, it jumped 48 places to the number two spot.

It is not only the most purchased track of the week, but with 1.4 million audio streams notched up in the past seven days too, it claims the highest streaming proportion for a number one single since streaming began counting towards the Official Singles Chart last month.

Some 16pc of Rude's overall chart sales tally has been contributed from fans listening via audio streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer and O2 Tracks.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has once again fought off the competition, spending a sixth week at number one in the albums chart with X.
