Challenge over man's dentures

A REMAND prisoner has brought a High Court challenge aimed at ensuring he has his false teeth.

The action is being brought by Boguslaw Jakubiec (53), a Polish national with an address at Carcur Cottages, Wexford Town, who the court was told has great difficulty eating without his dentures.

Last month, following his arrest over break-ins in the Dublin area, he was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison.

Mathias Kelly, for Mr Jakubiec, said the action was being brought on the grounds Mr Jakubiec's treatment is inhumane and degrading and in breach of the European Convention of Human Rights.

The case is to come back before the court next Tuesday.

GERMANY'S foreign intelligence agency can keep secret some of its records on Adolf Eichmann, known as the architect of the Nazi Holocaust, a court has ruled.

The Federal Administrative Court ruled that the intelligence agency was within its rights to black out passages from the files sought by a journalist attempting to shed light on whether West German authorities knew in the 1950s where Eichmann had fled after World War II.

Last year, the court said the Federal Intelligence Service had to release files it had previously kept secret.
