SHE'S already made her mark as a top music promoter and now Celebrity Apprentice boss Caroline Downey is getting ready to produce a season of plays by John B Keane.
Mother of three Downey is a dab hand at bringing the annual Christmas pantomime show to the stage, including this season's successful Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at the Gaiety.
Now the businesswoman wants to further flex her muscles as a producer, by reviving a series of Keane's famous plays and bringing them to an Irish audience at the Dublin theatre.
Downey (right) is the managing director of the Gaiety, as well as being co-owner and director of MCD, the country's biggest entertainment promoter.
The first of Keane's plays that she will stage is Moll and it will run in May for four weeks.
While the full cast has yet to be announced, Father Ted actor Frank Kelly (75) has signed up to star in it.
And Downey is hoping to feature Keane's work in the Gaiety's schedule for a long time to come – with plans to host a season of the Kerry man's work annually.
"This is very exciting news in the world of theatre," an insider told the Herald.
