Capital licking its lips for Taste

AN estimated 30,000 people are expected to take a bite out of the Taste of Dublin festival this weekend.

Despite the recession, hungry Dubs will flock to the Iveagh Gardens to get stuck into the treats on offer from more than 100 stalls.

Organisers hope the good weather returns to ensure crowd figures remain as strong as in previous years.

The festival is in its fifth year, and most of Dublin's top restaurants have signed up, including Bon Appetit, Balzac, Diep Le Shaker and Roly's Bistro, offering dishes for around €6.

Michelin-starred eaterie Chapter One will also feature strongly and has been given a boost after claiming the Best Restaurant award at the Burlington this week.

Chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli, Rachel Allen, Kevin Dundon and Darina Allen will also be present.
