Sile Seoige has claimed cancer had a positive impact on her life.

The 35-year-old was struck with thyroid cancer three years ago, but has now made a full recovery after an intensive round of treatment.

"I have never been as happy as I am right now and everything is in perspective. Within myself, I am probably at my most content," she said.

"If I had a chance to swap with the me I was before I felt sick, I never would. It made me expand myself."

The broadcaster believes that the disease changed her life in a positive way.

BETTER

"I think something like this can shift your perspective and in my case it was for the better," she revealed. "I'm one of the lucky ones and I can no longer take anything for granted."

At the moment, Sile is touring the country promoting her charity single Maybe This Christmas to raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation and Childline.

"This project has let me to fulfil my childhood dreams and record a song," she said. "Singing is bringing me more joy than anything else, ever."
