Canada keen on Irish

CONSTRUCTION companies from western Canada have begun a new recruitment drive for skilled Irish workers.

British Columbia has successfully nominated 482 Irish workers for permanent residency since the first jobs expo here in March last year. The provincial construction association has said it is returning because of the high calibre of Irish workers.

Another jobs expo has been lined up for November 2 in the Dublin Convention Centre at Spencer Dock.
