Call to reform exams

BUSINESS group IBEC wants the Government to bring about a 'major reform' of the Leaving Cert system after another disappointing set of maths and science results.

There was a continued drop in maths and science grades and 10pc of students failed the ordinary level paper. IBEC's head of education policy Tony Donohoe said fluency in maths was vital to the educational and economic well-being of the country.
