B*Witched star in Celebrity Big Brother house

B*Witched star Edele Lynch has joined this year's Celebrity Big Brother and has said she won't be standing for any liars while she's in the house.

Quoting her own lyrics, "Say you're true, say to me, I fight like my dad as well," she warned her fellow contentants ahead of going into the Big Brother house.

Edele (34) was a member of Irish girl band B*Witched with her twin sister Keavy, Lindsay Armaou and Sinead O'Carroll.

A sister of Boyzone star, Shane Lynch, Edele will be joining a raft of celebrities for this year's reality show including transgender ex-boxing promoter Kellie Maloney, Hollywood actor Gary Busey, The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger and Emmerdale actress Claire King.

Other previous Irish Big Brother stars include model Georgia Salpa, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star, Paddy Doherty, and presenter Brian Dowling.

B*Witched had major success between 1998 and 2002, even supporting N*Sync and Britney Spears on their American tours in 1999. They enjoyed this success in both Europe and North America at the time, releasing two albums and eight singles, all of which made the UK Top 20.

split

Their first four singles, C'est la Vie, Rollercoaster, To You I Belong and Blame It On The Weatherman, all reached number one in the UK singles chart.

In 2002, having sold over three million albums worldwide, B*Witched were dropped by their record company. Soon afterwards, when Sinead O'Carroll decided to leave, the band split up.

In 2012 they reformed as part of the ITV show, The Big Reunion, where the band were followed along with other pop groups of their time, including Liberty X, Five and Atomic Kitten as they prepared for a comeback performance in 2013.

Off the back of the success of the TV show, The Big Reunion embarked on an arena tour around the UK and Ireland in 2013. Edele met husband Michael Barrett in 2005 after being set up on a blind date and got married a year later. They have three children together.
