Buyer for stone firm

FEARS for the future of 60 workers at Kilkenny Limestone in Paulstown have eased on news that a buyer has been found.

The 30-year-old firm, which is in receivership, is to be sold to Belgian stone group Brachot. The deal, expected to be finalised in the next two weeks, will see Brachot investing up to €3m in the company. They will continue to employ the current workforce.

Kilkenny Limestone specialises in producing blue limestone.
