Business confidence up

CONFIDENCE among business owners surged as 2013 closed.

Some 40pc of those surveyed said there had been an increase in confidence within their own organisations, according to the latest Global Economic Conditions Survey by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants. This was up 28pc on the previous quarter.

Business chiefs are also increasingly optimistic about the state of the economy, rising to 65pc, up by 47pc from the previous quarter. But the companies behind the survey cautioned against the high level of positivity, claiming it was likely to be temporary.
