Former US president, George HW Bush, is said to be making good progress since he fractured a bone in his neck during a fall last week.
Mr Bush's spokesman, Jim McGrath, said the former president is improving and his spirits are good.
The 91-year-old took a tumble at his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Wednesday and remains in hospital.
