A BURGLAR stole €2,000 in cash from a fridge in a cafe where it had been kept for safe-keeping, a court heard.

Robert McCabe (43), who had 92 prior convictions, was jailed for six months at Dublin District Court.

Judge Michael Walsh made the sentence concurrent to a jail term he is already serving.

McCabe, of Allenton Avenue, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to burglary at the cafe in Crumlin on May 4.

The court heard it had been a bank holiday weekend and the money had been put in the fridge for safe-keeping.

McCabe entered by force from the rear of the premises and was later identified on CCTV.

Judge Walsh said he was taking account of McCabe's guilty plea.
