Gardaí caught a Dublin burglar "red handed" when they found him wearing a lady's coat he had stolen from a flat minutes earlier.
David Cooney (35) was standing outside the flat with a bag of stolen property from two flats when the owners came out and confronted him. He only ran away when gardaí arrived but they caught him and arrested him.
Cooney of St Anthony's Road, Rialto, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to two burglaries at the Batchelor's Walk apartments, Dublin city on July 19, 2013. He also pleaded guilty to burglary at Rubens Avenue, Rialto on November 21, 2013 and to possession of an item for unlawful use in that burglary.
Avalanche kills four trekkers
An avalanche on a mountain pass in northern Nepal has killed four trekkers from Poland, Israel and Nepal.
A Nepalese army official said rescuers have recovered the bodies, including two Poles, from the Thorong La pass, 160km northwest of Katmandu.
Shrestha said army rescuers from nearby training camps were able to reach some of the trekkers and bring them safely to the nearest town.
Lexus recall 10,000 cars
Toyota has recalled almost 10,000 Lexus vehicles across the UK to fix faulty fuel delivery pipes.
The car manufacturer said the problem caused a risk of fuel leaks and is part of a worldwide recall of 759,000 vehicles.
Drivers may be alerted to the potential problem by the smell of fuel while driving or when leaving their car, Toyota said.
The models affected are IS 250, IS 250 C, IS F, GS 300, GS 460, GS 450h, LS 600h, LS 600hL and LS 460.
Five killed in suicide attack
Security officials in Pakistan say a suicide bomber has targeted a meeting of anti-Taliban elders in a tribal region bordering Afghanistan, killing five people and wounding 10.
The officials say the attacker, who wore an explosive vest, blew himself up as the elders met in the Tirah Valley in the Khyber tribal region.
