Brian O'Driscoll invests in whiskey distillery

GLENDALOUGH Irish Whiskey, Ireland's first craft distillery, has announced that Brian O'Driscoll has become an investor in the company.

The company declined to say what stake he was taking but said he had come on board as a part-owner.

The company also announced the expansion of its brand portfolio which now comprises Whiskey, Seasonal Botanical Gin and craft Poitin.

It has also launched internationally in both Australia and the United States.

Barry Gallagher, MD of Glendalough, said the company had been working hard developing a craft spirits portfolio and creating contemporary new brands.

"We are delighted to be launching both our single malt whiskey and Ireland's first seasonal gin," he said.

"We have built our distillery in Wicklow, successfully launched in the US and Australia and we're delighted to have Brian O'Driscoll on board as an investor in our company.

"Brian's involvement in the company, along with these recent developments, reflects the scale of our ambitions."

Glendalough said Mr O'Driscoll's involvement was a very positive development and reflected confidence in Glendalough's portfolio of premium brands.
