BRAVE young Emma Fogarty is gearing up to meet actor Colin Farrell after she spent some time with Irish rugby player Johnny Sexton.
Emma (25) battles with an agonising genetic condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) which causes her skin to blister at the slightest touch.
Recently Emma met Leinster hero Johnny Sexton and Olympic medallist Ronnie Delany to discuss the Debra Ireland Kerry Challenge.
The programme challenges participants to trek 25km over three days amid the challenging terrain around Dingle and at the same time raise funds for an EB nurse specialist in Our Lady's Children's Hospital.
And now Emma hopes she will have the opportunity to meet actor Colin Farrell when he jets into Dublin to raise awareness about the charity, Debra Ireland.
The Hollywood star has agreed to meet a select number of fundraisers for the organisation as well as one lucky Herald reader on a date in a top Dublin restaurant.
However, the dad-of-two has expressed his wish to meet some of the people who are living with the debilitating condition in Ireland.
Emma, who lives with her sister Catherine (15) and her parents Malachy and Patricia in Abbeyleix, Co Laois, was diagnosed with EB as a baby.
"It's great to have Colin on board. I can't believe that he has signed up, it will really raise the profile of the charity," she said. "You never know I might get to meet Colin myself."
The seventh annual Kerry Challenge will take place from the June 18-20.
