Bord Gais profit falls

BORD Gais Energy recorded a 24pc fall in profits in the last year.

The company said it made €94m in profits in 2011.

Although profit before income tax was down 24pc, the company says turnover grew by 5pc in the same period.

Chief Executive John Mullins (pictured) said that the company will pay a dividend of €33.1m to the Exchequer for 2011, bringing the total dividend paid to €830m.
