Body snatcher faces sentence

A GERMAN national who pleaded guilty to assisting with the removal and concealment of a man's body is to be sentenced in February.

Joachim Pohl (28), of Linton Place, Kilkenny, pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to knowing or believing that Armin Wielderhold, of the same address, committed an offence and pleaded guilty to assisting the removal and concealment of the body of Thomas Thompson of Borris Road, Portlaois in 2007.

Mr Thomas (59) was originally from Yorkshire and had worked as a plastering contractor in Ireland for several years.
