The Stateside adventure continues for Ireland's golden couple, Brian O'Driscoll and Amy Huberman, as they caught up with a couple of well-known friends while holidaying in New York.

The Dublin duo, who hung out backstage with U2 after their Madison Square Garden concert just days ago, enjoyed a night out with Moone Boy star Chris O'Dowd and his broadcaster wife Dawn O'Porter.

It seems the couples, who both have young children, enjoyed their double date, with Amy hinting she was feeling a little worse for wear the following morning.

"Last night. Why today there isn't a single carbohydrate or inch of melted cheese safe in NYC," the actress captioned an Instagram selfie of the four stars.

The two famous couples have been pals for some time; Amy and Chris both attended UCD and starred in RTE drama The Clinic.

Amy is also a big fan of Dawn's vintage-inspired fashion label BOB by DOP.

Before meeting up with Chris and Dawn, sports pundit Brian and his other half took in some of New York's sights while also getting their exercise fix by embarking on a bike ride around the city.

Both married couples are known for their sense of humour, and Roscommon native O'Dowd showcased some of his trademark wit in a recent Heathrow airport ad.

The actor, who plays an imaginary friend in his self-written comedy Moone Boy, has voiced a new online video for the airport to show they are going to extra lengths to make Heathrow more 'imaginary friend friendly'.

The six-minute clip shows airport staff showing how they treat the imaginary pals.

Chris is also busier than ever when it comes to acting, though recently it was revealed that the search was on for a new female co-star for him in new film Can You Ever Forgive Me? after Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore decided to pull out of the movie.
