Big players fight it out for transport contract

All the major outdoor operators are competing for one of Ireland's biggest advertising contracts. CBS Outdoor, Clear Channel, JCDecaux and the incumbent, Bravo are vying for the CIE group business for Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann. The current five-year contract expires at the end of the year.

The new contract will run for three years, with an option to extend it for a further year.

The pitches got under way in mid-August. French contractor JCDecaux has the Luas contract until 2012.

While the safe money is on Bravo retaining the contract, it is certainly not seen as a 'shoo-in'. The contract is valued at between €50m to €60m.
