A BLACK bear who wandered on to a university campus in America fell safely from a tree after being tranquillised, and was later relocated to the nearby Rocky Mountains.
State wildlife officials said the 91kg male bear was tagged and taken to a remote woodland area.
The bear has become a celebrity since it wandered around a University of Colorado residence hall and climbed a tree.
Wildlife officers tranquillised it and the bear dropped from its 15ft high perch on to pads placed on the ground. It landed on its back before a crowd of students.
A campus police spokesman called it "a perfect landing".
