A BATSMAN has died after being struck in the chest with a cricket ball.
Bavalan Pathmanathan (24), who played in the British Tamils Cricket League (BTCL) received the blow while playing for division three Manipay Parish Sports Club (UK).
He was given CPR and treated by paramedics at Long Ditton recreation grounds in Surrey, but later died of his injuries at Kingston hospital.
