Bank to save artworks

IRISH art requiring extensive conservation could be funded by Bank of America Merrill Lynch under its 2013 global scheme.

The bank's Art Conservation Project is a unique initiative that provides grants to not-for-profit organisations throughout the world to conserve historically or culturally significant works.

Previous grant recipients include The National Gallery of Ireland, for the conservation of The Marriage of Strongbow and Aoife.
