Bank to push into UK

Bank of Ireland UK is planning a push into the British current- account market before the end of the year in a move to challenge the UK's big high street lenders.

The Irish bank is aiming to launch current accounts across 11,500 branches through its joint venture with the UK's Post Office, according to the Financial Times. The partnership allows the bank to sell products through the largest branch network in Britain under the Post Office brand. It is currently testing a some new accounts across 300 branches.
