Bank system on track

THE Irish banking system is gradually getting back on track, a financial review from the Central Bank has outlined.

Personal and business deposits have jumped by €7bn, or 5.3pc, over the course of the year. And the amount covered by the eligible liabilities guarantee has dropped from €100bn in September 2011 to a current level of €78bn.

But the Central Bank said that funding risks remain.
