Bank eyes RBS firm

A CHINESE bank is leading the €4.8bn race to buy Royal Bank of Scotland's Dublin-based aircraft leasing business, it has been reported.

State-owned China Development Bank has tabled the highest bid for the RBS Aviation Capital, it was revealed. The deal would be the largest ever acquisition of an Irish-based company by a Chinese rival. Wells Fargo & Co and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc are also said to be interested in acquiring the business.
