IRISH people who lived in Australia could be entitled to an average refund of over up to €2,000 in tax back by the end of the month.
The Australian tax year ends on June 30 and tax experts have urged those who spent time in Australia last year – or the previous eight – to get their applications organised.
Up to €100m worth of tax refunds from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) is estimated to be outstanding to people who returned to Ireland.
Aoife Flynn, from Taxback.com, said that Irish people are primarily eligible to claim income tax and superannuation refunds.
Taxback.com customers get an average refund of $2,600 (€1,800) for income tax and $3,380 (€2,380) for superannuation.
