AN on-the-run serial rapist captured in a Dublin hospital remains under guard by armed detectives.
After a major manhunt, detectives from Dublin's Mountjoy Garda Station found the man in the hospital, where he had admitted himself under a false name.
He was previously jailed for 12 years for kidnapping and sexually assaulting four women in a series of attacks.
Sources say that last Sunday night he met a Dublin woman in her 20s in the city centre and lured her to a hotel under the pretence of having drugs there.
It is understood he was attempting to sexually assault the woman when she broke free and jumped from a window.
She alerted gardai but they found no sign of the rapist at the hotel. He appears to have been injured while trying to sexually assault the woman.
Gardai say he that will be arrested as soon as he is discharged from hospital.
