GUINNESS, gardai and gormless photoshoots – it's all in day for a NASA astronaut turned Ireland tourism ambassador.
He once tweeted that Ireland was the "land of green hills and dark beer" as he saw it from the depths of space.
So it's hardly surprising that Commander Chris Hadfield was given the traditional Irish treatment during his visit.
The Canadian astronaut marked his first day as tourism ambassador with a game of hurling and a pint of Guinness.
After quitting space last year, Hadfield accepted a role as 2014 Ambassador for Ireland.
During his first day in the role, Hadfield enjoyed a game of hurling alongside TD Leo Varadkar, sank a pint in the Guinness Storehouse and visited Dublin's Mansion House.
In May 2013 Dublin City honoured Commander Hadfield with a Lord Mayor's Award for his contribution to the city.
The astronaut even managed to turn up on The Late Late Show - AGAIN, just one week after his appearance on the chat show..
