Alert over bank risks

THE European bank watchdog has warned that financial institutions are not identifying enough staff as key risk-takers which undermines its effort to reduce the threat of another crisis.

The European Banking Authority said a survey of banks in 21 countries showed that "some areas of concern" remained. There were big inconsistencies in how banks judged if employees had a material impact on the risk profile of their bank, it said.
