Aer Lingus talks fail

STRIKE action at Aer Lingus is a growing possibility as pension talks between management and unions broke down.

The issue surrounds a €750m hole in the group's pension scheme. Siptu says industrial action is now the only remaining option for staff. The Labour Relations Commission had informed the airline it was adjourning the discussions on the joint Aer Lingus/Dublin Airport Authority pension scheme indefinitely.
