JAMIE Dornan's steamy Hollywood debut is selling out across Dublin, but it seems the movie is not just for date night.

Although the film is being billed as an ideal movie for gal pals or couples, a spokesperson for Omniplex cinemas told the Herald that the group has had requests for corporate bookings of previews.

It seems as if companies are interested in hiring entire cinema screens for entertaining clients.

Omniplex has already sold 11,000 tickets for the show and is prepared to show it on as many screens as necessary to meet demand.

The highly-anticipated release of Fifty Shades of Grey has been timed perfectly for the most romantic weekend of the year but it is also being targeted for girls' nights outs.

Movies at Dundrum was the very first Irish cinema to release tickets for the racy film - with seats on sale since July - mainly to females.

"It's mostly groups of girls booking so far, although we do have the odd fella ringing up to book two tickets," a spokesman said. Unsurprisingly, the southside cinema has sold-out its February 14 primetime screenings of the movie.

Cinemas in Tallaght have also sold out their Saturday night showings, while there are still some available in city centre theatres.

Universal is standing firm on its no preview policy, which means critics won't see the movie until next Friday.

There has been criticism in the US about poor off-screen chemistry between Dornan and his co-star Dakota Johnson. Their press tour has been described as 'disastrous' Stateside.

However, the pair have attempted to pour cold water on reports that they didn't get along when the camera stopped rolling during an interview on the Today show in New York.

Jamie Dornan is not expected to be in town for the premiere of the film.

In a new interview he hinted that there may be a sequel and he would be interested in signing up.
