a 46-YEAR-OLD Dublin man will go on trial in March after he was allegedly caught carrying a flick-knife when he entered the Four Courts building.
Karl Hynes with an address at Homelawn Drive, Tallaght is charged with unlawful possession of the knife on the afternoon of November 5 last.
Garda Sergeant Zita Woods said it was alleged Mr Hynes was stopped by security at the Four Courts after he passed through metal detectors at the main entrance.
A flick-knife with a three-inch blade was "found on his person", it was claimed.
Judge Cormac Dunne accepted jurisdiction for the case to be dealt with at district court level.
Defence solicitor Brendan Ahern said his client is pleading not guilty. Judge Dunne said it was likely there will be CCTV evidence and he ordered that the trial will take place on March 16 next.
