MORE than 9,200 start-ups were formed in Ireland in the third quarter of 2012, an average of roughly 100 per day.
Between July and September a total of 9,233 company and business start-ups were formed.
A total of 25pc of these began trading in the professional services industry and 12pc are in the social and personal services sector.
Meanwhile, 501 individual companies were declared insolvent in the third quarter of 2012, an average of approximately five per day. And 42pc of these companies were located in Dublin.
