€650 store robbery suspect remanded

A JOBLESS man who allegedly ordered a shop assistant to hand over the contents of a till has been remanded on continuing bail for four weeks while the DPP considers the allegation.

Shane Heaphy (23) allegedly made off with over €650 after he and an accomplice robbed a convenience store in Swords.

Heaphy and his accomplice were allegedly armed with a knife and an iron bar.

Judge Patrick Brady remanded Heaphy on continuing bail.


Heaphy was also ordered to stay away from Eurospar in Swords, where the alleged incident occurred.

Heaphy, of Applewood Avenue and Jugback Crescent, both in Swords, appeared before Swords District Court charged with robbery.

The alleged incident took place at Eurospar, Applewood village, Swords, around 3pm on January 8.
