A NEW Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) research centre will be launched this week following a €50m investment.
The AMBER centre is the result of collaboration between Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
It has been set up with the help of leading researchers in material science and industry to develop new materials and medical devices. Along with the educational institutions, 18 industry partners have also invested in the new venture.
Minister of State Sean Sherlock has been lined up to officially launch the new SFI facility at an event in Croke Park on Thursday.
