50 pupils join 200km trek to spread tragic Donal's life message

TRANSITION year students will trek 200km across the country as part of an event to raise funds for a foundation set up in memory of anti-suicide campaigner Donal Walsh.

Fifty pupils from Donal's former CBS The Green and Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee, Co Kerry, will visit schools and rugby clubs spreading Donal's message to live life between Sunday, February 2 and Thursday February 8. "This walk brings together the school pals of Donal, his rugby friends and the hospital he was treated in," said Donal's mother Elma.

The IRFU has teamed up with the Donal Walsh Foundation. Rob Kearney, Jack McGrath and Mike McCarthy yesterday unveiled a 19m artwork installation at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin as part of the event.
