40 jobs to be created at AA

AA Ireland is creating 40 jobs at its Dublin headquarters, it announced today.

The motoring organisation said it is recruiting for its insurance operations, web development section and other areas.

Policy director Conor Faughnan said demand has been growing for road rescue services in recent years as people hold on to cars for longer.

"AA Insurance has been performing very strongly and we need extra staff in our call centre to deal with growing demand," he said.

"We are predicting a good year in 2011 and we are investing in extra resources."

Mr Faughnan said they were looking for people to fill vacancies across the business.

The AA is based on Drury Street in central Dublin.

Longoria faces €3m legal row

Desperate Housewives co-star Eva Longoria is being sued for at least $4m (€3.1m) over her financially troubled Las Vegas nightclub.

A former partner in the Beso club, Mali Nachum, claims Longoria violated California usury laws.

The suit was filed in LAs County Superior Court.
