30,000 wind jobs bid

IRELAND could be looking at creating 30,000 new jobs here if the wind energy industry was developed to supply the rest of Europe, especially Britain, with wind energy.

Irish Wind Energy Association (IWEA) chief executive Kenneth Matthews said that Government and enterprise organisations needed to pool their resources to develop the industry. Currently over 2,000 people work in the fast-growing sector.
