THE group behind DIY chain B&Q plans to create more than 1,200 jobs.
It's understood that the majority of the positions will be based in the UK through a major expansion of its trade supply arm Screwfix.
Kingfisher has announced it will open 40 new Screwfix stores by the end of next January.
The company announced results showing a 24pc rise in half-year profits to £439m (€317m).
Another 230 jobs will come from the conversion of 29 Focus stores into B&Q.
