Newly single Fassbender enjoys a strictly lads only night with pals in Lillie's

HE is one of Ireland's most eligible bachelors, but actor Michael Fassbender was on a strict lads-only night over the weekend.

The Kerry hunk spent Saturday night in Grafton Street haunt Lillie's Bordello where he was joined by a small number of close friends, including Game Of Thrones star Liam Cunningham.

The Hollywood A-lister took time out from filming his latest movie to enjoy drinks in the VIP section of the capital hotspot.

partied

Despite his recent split from girlfriend Nicole Beharie, newly single Fassbender (35) stayed away from female attention and enjoyed a low key night in the VIP members' bar with good pals.

"He arrived late with a group of pals and they partied away in the VIP area," a source told the Diary.

"He stayed until the end of the night and it looked like he was having a super night as the drinks kept flowing," the source added.

Fassbender, who was born in Germany but raised in Ireland, is currently in the capital to film comedy Frank by Dublin director Lenny Abrahamson alongside American actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and home-grown talent Domhnall Gleeson.

There could be more nights on the tiles in Dublin in store for the award winning star, who will be here for at least another week and is expected to attend next weekend's IFTAs award ceremony.

Regarded as Ireland's sexiest single man, Fassbender is fast becoming one of Ireland's most famous actors after starring roles in box office hit Inglorious Bastereds in 2009 and blockbuster X-Men: First Class in 2011.

He had been dating American actress and Shame co-star Nicole for the past year. Their split was confirmed last month with the break-up being blamed on the pressures of their long distance relationship. Fassbender is based in the UK, while 27-year-old Nicole remained in the US.

The actor was not the only Hollywood actor who partied in Dublin at the weekend, as he was joined in Lillie's exclusive VIP area by American actor Scoot McNairy.

Known for his roles in Kill Them Softly, alongside Brad Pitt, and in Herbie Fully Loaded with actress Lindsay Lohan, the handsome American was turning heads in the club.

cosy

Model Madeline Mulqueen was letting her hair down in the Grafton Street club just days after she was spotted getting cosy with Transformers actor and rising Irish star Jack Reynor in Dublin nightclub 37.

While celebrity chef Dylan McGrath also enjoyed a few tipples after a busy weekend. The MasterChef star is a regular fixture at the Dublin venue and was spotted enjoying Saturday night after earlier partying in Buck's Townhouse on Leeson Street.
