JOSEPH NDO wants Sligo Rovers to build on the success of their third FAI Cup final win in four seasons by making an impact in Europe next season.

The former Cameroon international played a major role in Sligo's 3-2 win over Drogheda United in a thrilling cup final at Lansdowne Road yesterday.

But the future of Ndo and other key Sligo figures, such as manager Ian Baraclough and goal-scoring strikers Danny North and Anthony Elding, is up in the air as they are all out of contract.

"We need to progress and that means European football," Ndo told the Herald after he collected his third FAI Cup winner's medal.

"We need more success and the next step for Sligo Rovers is Europe, we have to try and compete in European football.

GUNNERS 'WINNING'

arsenal are winning the Premier League race, according to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

Arsenal put five points between the sides thanks to goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey on Saturday, with Rodgers admitting Arsene Wenger's men overran Liverpool in midfield.

"They are winning the race," Rodgers said. "People talk about it being early, but you don't get these points back."
