Nail bomb discovered outside home

A FAMILY, including five children, were left terrorised today after a nail bomb was found outside their home.

ARMY bomb experts were called to a property in Dublin's south inner city in the early hours of this morning after receiving a report of a threat.

A small bomb was found consisting of a jam jar with nails in it, which sources say had the potential to cause "serious injury".

Officers spent just under an hour making the viable device safe and carried out a controlled explosion.

Two adults and five children were evacuated from the property on Oblate Drive in Inchicore. A number of nearby homes were also evacuated.
