My health

Marietta Doran (36), fashion stylist and image consultant

What was the last thing you ate?

An orange, I love them, fresh and zingy.

Do you go to the gym or classes?

Gym.

Do you take vitamins or supplements?

No. I have a healthy, well-balanced diet.

My pharmacist friend told me many years ago that if you have a healthy well-balanced diet, which I do, there's no need to take either unless of course you want the most expensive urine in town. It gives a whole new meaning to flushing your money down the toilet!

What foods always go into your shopping trolley?

Fruit and vegetables and freshly ground coffee.

Have you ever been in hospital?

Yes, twice. I broke my arm when I was eight years old and because it was broken in two places I spent eight weeks in hospital. Then for the birth of my daughter, Mia, eleven years ago.

What was your worst illness?

Never been ill, thank God! Health is wealth so long may it continue.

Would you get your five a day?

Yes, always. I love fruit, vegetables and salads.

What is your favourite meal to cook?

Spaghetti Bolognese as it's my daughter's favourite dinner.

Any vices?

Glass of chablis, cold bottle of Budweiser, and lots of coffee and the occasional all-nighter.

I like to party ...

Ever dieted?

Yes, Monday to Friday with weekends off.

Any family ailments?

No, thankfully we've always enjoyed and appreciated good health.

Long may it continue!

How many hours sleep do you get a night?

Eight to nine hours. I love sleeping. I believe one hour before midnight is worth two after. Sleep is vital for health and this I believe is part of the reason I am so healthy.

What is your favourite cure?

A long walk, I live in the country and have access to some of the most beautiful areas to walk. Mount Leinster is a fave of mine. It clears the cobwebs and gives you a great sense of achievement and freedom. A natural high!

Do you have any health goals?

To stay fit, healthy and slim.

Do you smoke or have you ever smoked?

I was a social smoker in my early twenties. My friends and I used to smoke our best friend's cigarettes but when she got married and started to plan a family she gave up, and so did we!

Choose one food to bring to a desert island with you.

This is difficult as sushi is my favourite food and it would be pretty pointless as there's so many fish in the sea.
